A list of the most needed items can be found here.

Founded in 1983, Daily Bread Food Bank has grown to become one of Canada’s largest food banks. Working with member agencies, they work to eliminate food insecurity and advocate for solutions to end poverty.

More people are relying on food banks than ever before:

  • Before the pandemic, Daily Bread food banks saw an average of 68,000 visits each month. Daily Bread member food banks now serve an average of more than 130,000 visits each month.
  • Last year, there were close to 1.45 million visits to food banks in Toronto, the highest number ever recorded in our city’s history. This represents a 47% increase compared to the year prior.
  • 1 in 5 adults and 1 in 4 children live in poverty in Toronto.
  • Close to one in three food bank visits in Toronto are children and youth.
