Our first textile recycling fundraiser was a big success!
Textile Waste Diversion collected 1,750 pounds of textiles from Wilkinson! Our efforts earned $175 for the school and resulted in a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions equal to 7,159 pounds of carbon dioxide. What does this mean in everyday terms? Items in good condition will be resold, and items that can’t be resold will be shredded and used to make things like cat toys, dog beds, upholstery, and industrial rags.
