On behalf of our entire Wilkinson staff, we want to thank you for all your support! We know parents, and sometimes older siblings, are our essential partners with the “Learn at Home” platforms…..THANK YOU!
For June, here are a few things to look forward to:
- Teacher BIKE Tour: To offer some distanced greetings, some of our teachers will be doing a community bike tour on Tuesday, June 2nd, starting their route at 1:00pm. Please see the attached document for their planned route. {Note: Rain date is Wed. June 3rd} Please step out onto your porch or into your yard or wave from your window…..to say hello. - Grade 6 Graduation: As most parents and students are aware, the Wilkinson year book is under production. We know the decision to keep schools closed for June has a specific impact on the Grade 6s who were looking forward to their ‘grad’. Plans are in process for a student virtual graduation. We certainly will not be able to ‘host’ or ‘invite’ all the friends and family that usually enjoy the graduation, but our teachers are now creating plans to ensure our Grade 6s have the best virtual event possible.
- “Welcome to Kindy” Virtual parent sessions: Parents with incoming JK students will receive an invite to our virtual “Welcome to Kindy” session, which will be held on June 4th — various times.
- “Hearts & Minds” newsletter: The TDSB Psychological services has created a valuable newsletter to support virtual learning, mental health & well-being. Please see the attached pdf, “Hearts & Minds”. Hearts & Minds May 19, 2020 (1).pdf
- ONLINE Summer School – Grades 3 to 8: Please review the attached document shared from DA Morrison. It outlines a learning opportunity for students from July 6-31. The flyer has all of the registration details. DA Morrison flyer.pdf
- School access for personal items: A number of parents have requested access to the school to retrieve items. The TDSB will be releasing a protocol for students/parents to access schools in June, that adheres to Public Health protocols.
