Gear up for the 6th annual Wilkinson Wood Car Derby

Registration: 5 – 6 p.m.
Race: 6 – 9 p.m.
After a three year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are thrilled to announce that the Wilkinson Wood Car Derby is BACK! This is one of the most exciting events of the year for our school community, and we can’t wait to come together, have fun and raise funds to support important Wilkinson programs and initiatives.
What is the Wood Car Derby?
The Wood Car Derby is a racing event where students get the chance to race wooden cars that they have built and decorated. Check out this video to see highlights from a previous Wilkinson Wood Car Derby event.
Leading up to the event, participating students will be given a car kit that includes a block of wood, plastic wheels and metal axles to build the fastest car they can. Please see the 2023 Wilkinson Wood Car Derby Rules for more information. All proceeds will go towards supporting Wilkinson programs and initiatives.
At the event, students will be split into two groups (JK-Grade 2 and Grades 3-6) and trophies will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place racers in each group. Trophies will also be awarded for the ‘Most Creative’ and ‘Best in Show’ cars.
Arrive hungry and purchase dinner at our concessions stand (cash only).
We’re also looking for event volunteers to help with set up, clean up, crowd control, and concession sales. Please sign up here if you’d like to help!
